MESSAGE FROM PASTOR GARY

The Swine flu, drug related kidnappings and shootings, the global economic crisis. These stories fill the headlines and paint a grim picture of conditions not only in Mexico, but around the world. They are issues that must be taken very seriously because they are causing loss and heartache for thousands of people. When we hear about these things we can’t help but be concerned but we don’t have to be afraid. We have someone watching over us who sees everything that is going on both in the light of day and the dark of night. Nothing can be hidden from His penetrating sight and He promises not only to be with His people but to strengthen them as long as their hearts are fully committed to Him. Caring Hearts has an ongoing mission, a call from God that can never be suspended or put on hold. Orphans, the sick, the hungry and the imprisoned need help TODAY! Our volunteers from churches and colleges from Pennsylvania to Florida to Arizona continue their work regardless of the conditions. The mission’s trips continue. Food is being distributed, buildings are being built, children are being cared for and the Gospel is being preached. Whenever our people cross the border from America into Mexico they never cross alone. The Lord is with them, His angels surrounding those who are willing to take risks to carry out His orders. Thank you for your faith and courage. Keep going, giving and praying. The fields are ripe for harvest and the Master is calling His laborers to work.
God Bless you all.
Pastor Gary

NEW PRAISE DANCES

Here are some pictures of our girls learning new praise dances. Our intern Staci and Sarai have been teaching them. The girls love being involved in ministry to the Lord in this way.

SPECIAL GRADUATION

Our friend Jeff from Monroeville Assembly received a special diploma for his work on the Girls Dorm Makeover. He is a salesman and account executive, but he learned a lot while working on this construction project. His joyful spirit motivated all as the girls dorm came together.

TWO GROUPS

Here is a picture of the two groups, Monroeville Assembly from Monroeville PA and Renuevo Ministries from Portland Oregon, together after our church service Sunday. It was a blessing to have a combination of veterans and rookies ministering in different ways here at Caring Hearts.

PASTOR'S CONFERENCE

Pastor Edgar Nuñez from Renuevo Ministries in Portland Oregon held a Pastor and Leader´s conference at the Caring Hearts Church in San Luis. Around 30 different pastors and leaders attended over the 3 session conference. It was an inspiring time of learning from Brother Edgar and his team. Pastor Edgar is Marcelo and Angelica´s pastor. He was accompanied by his wife and two families, who spent time at the Boy´s home in between conference times. Here are some pictures from the conference.

GIRLS DORM MAKEOVER

A small group from Monroeville Assembly of God worked this past week to fix up the girls dorm at the Bethel orphanage. They laid in a drop ceiling, painted and worked on other details. They did a beautiful job! Mama Bertha and the girls are thankful for the wonderful job they did. Here are some pictures of the work in progress.

SAN LUIS FLU REPORT

There have been 3 confirmed cases in San Luis of the H1N1 virus. All three are resting at home without major complications. They have all been linked with people who were sick in Arizona, where there are more cases. Right now the local health departments are treating this as a normal seasonal flu, because it has turned out to be a mild strain. Early panic and deaths were caused by ignorance and inadequate care, but those who see a doctor at the outset of symptoms have had no problems. The main suggestion, and this goes for all over the world has there have been cases everywhere, is frequent hand washings. This virus is spread by droplets, not through the air, so with proper care and precaution, it can be avoided.

SPECIAL VISITORS

Steve and Jenny from Salzburg PA visited the boys home to celebrate Luis Adolfo's birthday and to begin work on the adoption process for Luis. They took the boys to the Palapas Swimming Park and had a party for Luis. Pray as the process begins that all goes well. Here are some pictures from their trip.

TEACHING ENGLISH

Staci Hughes, from Cornerstone Ministries in Delmont is here for a month teaching the kids English. Pray that she will have the patience, and that the children will have a desire to learn. We want to do all we can to prepare them for the best future possible.

KING FOR A DAY

By Marcelo Santos

A few days before his birthday, I asked Guillermo what were some of his dreams and desires and he said "I have many." So I asked again, "Tell me a special one, something that you would want for your birthday as a gift." And with all of his heart he said..."Well, one of my desires is to one day go to Burger King." I asked him why. He said that one day when the Americans took us to eat at the Chinese Restaurant, and he saw it and he thought it was so nice and wondered what it was like inside, and that is one of my dreams and desires.

This story touched our heart, and at that moment, God put in our heart the desire to be a blessing for this boy. You should have seen his face when we arrived at Burger King, it was a beautiful time for Guillermo, and also for us, to see how he played laughed and enjoyed his time in Burger King.

Perhaps for us, it isn't anything special, Burger King, but people like Guillermo that do not have this privilege to have a home, a family, who do not have the economic means, to be able to go out to eat, the desire just stays in their heart. I believe we should be thankful to Our God, for the privilege and blessing that we have. There are times we take things for granted, and we don't value what God has given. I believe we should be thankful all of the time.

I hope this story helps us to reflect and value all that God has given us till now.

MEET OUR SHUT INS VOLUME 2

FLU REPORT: CASES IN SAN LUIS O

Today's shut in is Consuelo. Consuelo has had a difficult life. Her husband was killed in a car accident. She has heart problems and recently had to have open heart surgery. She has 6 children, some who are doing what they can to help, but most of what they earn goes to paying the medical bills. Another situation she is dealing with: She lives in a house that is partially located on the lot of another family. They are asking her to move out soon. With some help from Sonlight Church in VA Beach and St. Ferdinands in Cranberry, we have started a new home for her, and we hope to finish it in November with a group from St. Ferdinands. Pray for Consuelo, her health, and patience from the owners.

MEET OUR SHUT INS VOLUME 1

FLU REPORT - CASES IN SAN LUIS: O

The last time we did our shut in ministry with a group, I felt overwhelmed by the needs that I saw. In my heart was a desire to do more. At around the same time, our director Harold McKamish had an answer to prayer in a family situation, and he asked God what He would want him to do. These two ideas met at our blog, and now Caring Hearts will be helping Ines and her shut ins in a greater way. In the next few days I want to present to you some of the folks we will be ministering to. Every other week, a local charity gives out food. Inez picks that food up and distributes it to the shut ins. We will be helping Inez meet the needs she has as well as adding to what is given to the people. These folks are the neediest of the needy, and it breaks our heart to see and know the conditions they are confronting. Please pray for this new ministry and ask God if He would want to participate through you with prayer or financial support.

Our first shut in is Hermina Salgado. Hermina is a grandmother who takes care of two of her grandchildren. Her son is in jail, and the mother abandoned the kids to her. One of the children, Jesus Emanuel, has severe cerebral palsey and is severely handicapped. Hermina lives in an old house on what folks like us help her with. Pray that God will give her strength to care for Jesus and her granddaughter.

OASIS BOYS AT WORK

SWINE FLU REPORT
CONFIRMED CASES IN SONORA AND SAN LUIS: O

The last time we visited the local nursing home, the director mentioned to Adalberto that there was a need for some repairs on their patio floor. She asked if we were able to provide some materials to help. Adalberto mentioned the need to me and we went to work. We got the materials and sent Luis, Gerardo and Rodolfo from the boys home out to do the job. It was their first job without any help from Pedro, and they did a good one. The director of the home was very impressed with the work and attitude of the boys. She donated some picnic tables to Caring Hearts. We thank God that two of our ministries could help one another and that the boys have shown they have learned what they have been taught. Enjoy the pictures.
