A few days before his birthday, I asked Guillermo what were some of his dreams and desires and he said "I have many." So I asked again, "Tell me a special one, something that you would want for your birthday as a gift." And with all of his heart he said..."Well, one of my desires is to one day go to Burger King." I asked him why. He said that one day when the Americans took us to eat at the Chinese Restaurant, and he saw it and he thought it was so nice and wondered what it was like inside, and that is one of my dreams and desires.
This story touched our heart, and at that moment, God put in our heart the desire to be a blessing for this boy. You should have seen his face when we arrived at Burger King, it was a beautiful time for Guillermo, and also for us, to see how he played laughed and enjoyed his time in Burger King.
Perhaps for us, it isn't anything special, Burger King, but people like Guillermo that do not have this privilege to have a home, a family, who do not have the economic means, to be able to go out to eat, the desire just stays in their heart. I believe we should be thankful to Our God, for the privilege and blessing that we have. There are times we take things for granted, and we don't value what God has given. I believe we should be thankful all of the time.
I hope this story helps us to reflect and value all that God has given us till now.
